Cristiano Ronaldo is set to stay with Al Nassr, as reported by insider Fabrizio Romano. The legendary player is close to finalizing a new contract, likely extending his tenure with the club to either one or two more years.
Ronaldo, who is now 40 years old, joined Al Nassr in January 2023 after a stint with Manchester United, where he signed a historic deal. As his initial contract was nearing its end, speculation arose regarding his potential departure from the club.
Since joining, Ronaldo has maintained an impressive performance record, leading the Saudi Pro League in scoring for two consecutive seasons and netting 25 goals in league matches, with a total of 35 goals across all competitions during the 2024-25 season. Despite his individual successes, Al Nassr has yet to capture the Saudi Pro League title, finishing third recently.
Following the conclusion of the last season, Ronaldo hinted at a possible transition with a social media post stating, “this chapter is over.” While on international duty with Portugal—where he secured the UEFA Nations League title—he mentioned receiving several offers from clubs involved in the ongoing Club World Cup.
In response to questions about his club future, Ronaldo asserted, “nothing will change” regarding his situation and confirmed his intent to remain with Al Nassr, simply stating: “Yes.”
Ronaldo’s accolades include five Ballon d’Or awards and significant achievements during his time with Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus. He remains the men’s international scoring record holder for Portugal with 138 goals and has captained his country to major victories including the European Championship (2016) and two Nations League titles (2019, 2024). He is also eyeing participation in the 2026 World Cup, which would mark his sixth.
