USMNT Coach Mauricio Pochettino Denies Interviewing for Premier League Role

Pochettino refutes claims of interviewing for the Brentford coaching position as the USMNT prepares for the Gold Cup.

United States men’s national team manager Mauricio Pochettino has publicly denied any connections to the coaching vacancy at Premier League club Brentford. As reported by Fox Sports, Pochettino stated, “This club never contacted me, I never talked to them.”

This assertion comes as the USMNT gears up for the Gold Cup quarterfinals, amidst speculation he might have been considered for the Brentford role, which has since been filled by Keith Andrews. Currently contracted with the USMNT until 2026, Pochettino’s focus remains on enhancing the team’s performance before the upcoming World Cup.

With the USMNT’s prior results falling short of expectations, the upcoming tournament presents a crucial opportunity for improvement as Pochettino aims to solidify his strategy before the global stage.
