Caitlin Clark's Injury Status: Fever Star Faces Difficult Matchup Ahead

Caitlin Clark is day-to-day due to a groin injury as the Fever prepares for a crucial game against the Lynx.

Caitlin Clark, the star of the Indiana Fever, is currently dealing with a left groin strain that has sidelined her for the last two games. She informed the media on Sunday that she is now considered “day-to-day” as she aims to recover in time for the team’s upcoming match against the Minnesota Lynx in the Commissioner’s Cup championship.

“I feel good, I’m gonna be day-to-day from here on out, and doing everything I can to put myself in a position to play the next game every single time,” stated Clark after practice. “That’s always my goal is to be available for the next game. Doing everything I can with the medical staff to get my body right for that. But yeah, I feel good and just going day-by-day.”

Clark hasn’t played since June 24, where she recorded a season-low of six points against the Seattle Storm. In the final moments of that match, she sustained an awkward fall. Prior to their game against the Los Angeles Sparks on Thursday, it was announced that she would not participate due to her groin injury, missing out on the chance to face Top Draft Pick Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings as well.

This marks the second setback for Clark this season after a left quad strain earlier in May kept her out for three weeks, missing a total of seven games. The Fever’s record stands at 3-4 without her playing, compared to 5-4 when she is on the court.

Before this season, Clark had maintained an impressive streak of 185 consecutive games since her high school days.

In terms of performance, Clark is averaging 18.2 points, 5 rebounds, and 8.9 assists in her nine games this season, though her shooting percentage is only 39%. Clark was also named a captain for the 2025 All-Star Game in Indianapolis alongside Napheesa Collier after receiving the highest votes from fans. They will draft their teams on July 8.
