Legendary Halftime Performer Red Panda Injured During Lynx vs. Fever Match
The renowned halftime artist Red Panda sustained an injury during her performance at a WNBA game, leading to her evacuation via wheelchair.
During the WNBA Commissioner’s Cup final between the Minnesota Lynx and Indiana Fever, a significant incident occurred but it was not player-related; rather, it involved the famed halftime performer Red Panda.
Red Panda, known as Rong “Krystal” Niu, appeared to injure her left wrist after falling off her unicycle during her celebrated unicycle and bowls act at Target Center in Minneapolis. She was seen holding her wrist while she was assisted off the court. Initially able to stand, she later needed a wheelchair, as captured on video by The Athletic’s Ben Pickman.
“Big halftime news in Minneapolis is that the great Red Panda’s halftime act stopped less than a minute in as she fell off her unicycle. They’re bringing a wheelchair over to her now.”

According to The Athletic, Niu was subsequently taken away in an ambulance. Niu has established herself as a legendary acrobat, performing during halftime at various NBA, WNBA, and college basketball games for over two decades, with her first performance dating back to 1993.
