When drafting in your Fantasy Football leagues, look for players with significant upside. This is especially true as we approach the 2025 season where elite wide receivers dominate the early picks. Among this group is Drake London, who stands out after ending last season strongly. Alternative receivers in his group haven’t shown the same potential.
As 2025 approaches, London’s situation has improved significantly. Entering his second year in the same offensive system will help accelerate his play. Moreover, he will have the opportunity to play a full season with Michael Penix, last season’s first-round draft pick at quarterback. London saw a notable increase in his production when Penix took charge. Here’s a snapshot of his 2024 achievements:
- 100 receptions, 1,271 yards, 9 touchdowns from 158 targets over 17 games.
- Ranked WR6 in PPR and WR4 per game, although he had the lowest scoring WR4 in PPR since 2019.
- Averaged a 29.3% target share, matching his rookie usage as QB stability improved.
London’s touchdown potential is significant with Penix at the helm, as he was among the most targeted red zone receivers last season. He led the Falcons with 24 red-zone and 18 end-zone targets, with the latter ranking tied for second-most among all receivers. Notably, London commanded >50% of his team’s targets within the 10-yard zone (52.6%). After Penix took over, the Falcons adopted a more passing-focused strategy, quickly becoming one of the top offenses in the league. This volume, combined with London’s red zone proficiency, can elevate him from a borderline WR1 to among the top fantasy players in 2025.
Here’s what Jamey Eisenberg has to say about London in the upcoming season:
“London has proven himself as one of the top Fantasy receivers in 2024 and will build on that this season. Draft him around Round 2 in most leagues. He had a standout year with 100 catches and 1,271 yards. With Penix, his rapport has been vital. In their three joint starts, he achieved 22 catches for 352 yards and two touchdowns. Two of those outings saw London scoring at least 17.6 PPR points. Expect him to continue dominating targets with the upside to become a top-five receiver this season.”
