Statement from the Portuguese Football Federation

The president of the Portuguese Football Federation, Pedro Proenca, expressed:

“We are devastated by the deaths of Diogo Jota and Andre Silva…. Their deaths represent irreparable losses for Portuguese football.”

Jota, a celebrated player, had earned 49 caps for the national team, scoring 14 goals and assisting in 12 others. This tribute not only marks the day but also solidifies their legacy in Portuguese football.
