Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever has been officially ruled out for Saturday’s matchup against the Los Angeles Sparks, which marks her fifth straight game absent due to a left groin injury.
Clark has participated partially in recent practices. Coach Stephanie White expressed to the media that the team’s priority is ensuring her complete recovery. “My goal has always been the same: I don’t want this to be something that lingers. We want to ensure she is 100% ready and prioritize her long-term health and wellness,” White stated.
Clark stated she feels “good” and is taking her recovery “day-by-day,” working closely with the medical staff to regain her fitness. She has not played since June 24, where she scored a season-low of six points against the Seattle Storm.
It’s notable that this is her second injury of the season, having previously missed three weeks due to a left quad strain. Clark has been sidelined for seven of the Fever’s 16 regular season games, contributing to the team’s current record of 8-8. Her absence has been felt, as they have only managed a 3-4 record without her, compared to 5-4 with her presence on the court.
