Jamal Musiala Suffers Severe Injury in Club World Cup Match Against PSG

Bayern Munich's Jamal Musiala sustained a grave leg injury during a match against PSG in Atlanta.

Bayern Munich’s 22-year-old rising star Jamal Musiala faced a devastating leg injury towards the end of the first half while competing in the Club World Cup quarterfinal against PSG on Saturday in Atlanta. Musiala, a key midfielder for Germany, pursued a lost ball in the attacking area, coinciding with PSG goalie Gianluigi Donnarumma diving for it. This resulted in Donnarumma’s landing on Musiala’s left leg, causing visible dislocation.

In a swift reaction, Bayern teammates surrounded him, urging the referee to halt the match so medical aides could attend to Musiala. His ankle was seen clearly displaced, prompting immediate medical assistance as both teams left for halftime.

Despite the serious incident, PSG eventually secured victory with a goal from Desire Doue in the 78th minute. The match saw both Willian Pacho and Lucas Hernandez of PSG receive red cards for fouls, but Bayern was unable to capitalize on their two-man advantage.

With this win, PSG is set to face either Real Madrid or Dortmund in the semifinals next week.
