Lonzo Ball is now with the Cleveland Cavaliers and expresses his excitement for the opportunity to pursue his first NBA championship after a trade from the Chicago Bulls.
If not for a two-year absence due to a knee injury, he would be in the prime of his career, yet he is grateful to be back on the court. Following his recent transfer, Ball mentioned his focus on winning, stating, “Just playing, competing for a ring. I feel like that should be the goal. Happy to get over there, meet everybody, and take it as far as we can.”
The Bulls traded Ball for Isaac Okoro, a surprising deal given Ball’s potential despite his injury history. This move enhances the Cavaliers’ backcourt, especially with Garland undergoing surgery that will sideline him for several months.
Though Ball has health concerns of his own, he remains optimistic, asserting, “It’s just a blessing… a team that has a real chance to win a ring.” The Cavaliers hold a two-year, $20 million deal with Ball, which includes a team option in the second year. Ball now aims to channel his best performance, which previously peaked at 14.6 points per game five years ago.
