Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott suffered a hamstring injury that caused him to miss nine games in 2024, but it’s not looking like the injury will sideline him for much longer. Prescott provided an injury update on Tuesday that will please Cowboys fans, confirming that he will be ready for training camp.
“I’m healthy as I’ll be,” Prescott remarked to reporters. “I’ll be full go for camp. I’m healthy, yeah.”
Prescott underwent surgery for a partial avulsion of his right hamstring in November, but he believes he’ll receive the green light from medical staff to return. Currently, he is not cleared for contact and has two weeks remaining before training camp starts on July 22.
“I think soon here I’ll probably get an official sign off from the doc,” the three-time Pro Bowler shared. “But I’m healthy.”
He was an active participant during OTAs this offseason and previously mentioned he could play a game if needed. He is being cautious, acknowledging the injury’s severity and his age as significant factors in his recovery pace.
This upcoming season, Prescott will be under the guidance of a new head coach, Brian Scottenheimer, who has stepped up from offensive coordinator to replace Mike McCarthy, who parted ways with the team after five seasons. The Cowboys ended last year with a disappointing 7-10 record, missing the playoffs.
