New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye is showing potential ahead of training camp with impressive skills. Just two weeks before training commences, Maye and teammate Rhamondre Stevenson decided to unwind by the water.
While relaxing, they engaged in some football practice, with Maye successfully throwing a pass while falling back into the water from a wakeboard onto Stevenson, who was riding alongside on a jet ski.
It could be seen as great practice for Maye, preparing him to face pressure from opposing defenses in the upcoming 2025 season. Stevenson’s focus while trying to catch the ball while steering the jet ski was equally commendable.
The Patriots did not have a great record last season, finishing 4-13, but Maye gained valuable experience in 13 games as a rookie, completing 66.6% of his passes for 2,276 yards, 15 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. He will be under a new coaching staff this season, with Mayo fired post-2024, now led by former Titans coach Vrabel and Josh McDaniels returning as offensive coordinator.
Overall, the Patriots aim for Maye to make significant improvements after a promising rookie season, especially with roster upgrades like signing star receiver Stefon Diggs and selecting former Ohio State running back TreVeyon Henderson in the draft.
