Iga Świątek Makes History with Dominant Wimbledon 2025 Victory over Amanda Anisimova

Iga Świątek secures her sixth Grand Slam title with a flawless performance in the Wimbledon 2025 final.

Iga Świątek secured her status as a six-time Grand Slam champion with a remarkable 6-0, 6-0 win against Amanda Anisimova in the Wimbledon 2025 final. The Polish superstar displayed exceptional dominance throughout the tournament, capping it off with an overwhelming performance that left Anisimova struggling.

This victory marks Świątek’s first Wimbledon title, achieved without losing a single game in the final. Anisimova’s surprising journey to the finals concluded abruptly as she fell to an inspired Świątek, who notably participated under immense pressure.

Notably, Steffi Graf is the only other player to have achieved a double bagel in a Grand Slam final, back in 1988 during the French Open.

The eighth-seeded Swiatek expands an impressive legacy with this win, as she is the ninth different female champion in as many Wimbledons, solidifying her place in tennis history. She lifted the Venus Rosewater Dish and walked away with over $4 million in prize money.

With tennis legends like Martina Navratilova and Billie Jean King among the spectators, Świątek’s performance was a masterclass in skill and determination, breaking her opponent’s serve several times early on. Anisimova encountered difficulties, making numerous unforced errors, and never managed to reclaim her momentum against such a formidable opponent.

In fact, Anisimova made 14 unforced errors in the first set alone, contributing to a swift match that lasted just 23 minutes for the first set. Despite a few highlight exchanges earlier in the tournament, she struggled to find her rhythm against Świątek, highlighting the latter’s aggressive play style from start to finish.

Anisimova was visibly troubled as she tried to compose herself, barely keeping pace with Świątek’s high-caliber shots as the match advanced.
