Midge Purce, an NWSL champion and the MVP of the recent NWSL Championship, has signed a new one-year contract with NJ/NY Gotham FC, ensuring her presence at the club for a fifth season.
As she prepares for her return from a torn ACL, Purce is expected to make a significant impact in the upcoming season alongside other talented players, despite the club’s offseason upheaval with several key departures. Purce was instrumental in Gotham’s success, finishing second in the golden boot race in 2021 and achieving numerous accolades, including her standout performance at the 2023 NWSL Championship.
Gotham FC has also added Olympic silver medalist Gabi Portillo to its roster, indicating the team’s commitment to maintaining a strong competitive edge as they head into a busy season.
