The 2025 Major League Baseball Draft is set to begin on Sunday, July 13, and will continue through Monday, July 14. All rounds will be selected over these two days, broadcast live from the Coca-Cola Roxy in The Battery Atlanta, near Truist Park, home of the Braves. The first overall pick will be made at 6 p.m. ET.
The first three rounds will take place on Sunday night, with rounds 4-20 commencing on Monday starting at 11:30 a.m. ET. CBS Sports will continuously update every pick and provide grades for the first rounds. Currently, there is no clear frontrunner, but Kade Anderson, a left-handed pitcher from LSU, is generating a lot of buzz leading up to the draft.
In addition, left-handed pitchers Liam Doyle from Tennessee and Jamie Arnold from Florida State, along with high school shortstops Ethan Holliday (son of Matt, brother of Jackson) and Eli Willits (son of Reggie), are under consideration. There’s also speculation surrounding Seth Hernandez, a high school pitcher from California, potentially being a surprising pick.
The Washington Nationals hold the first pick in the draft after recently firing club president Mike Rizzo. Following the Nationals are the Angels, and the Mariners are set to pick third. Notably, the Yankees, Dodgers, and Mets have no first-round picks this year due to exceeding the CBT threshold in 2024.
