Lionel Messi's Remarkable Goal Streak Continues With Another Win

Lionel Messi showcases his scoring prowess once again, helping Inter Miami secure a victory over Nashville SC, marking his fifth consecutive multi-goal game.

Lionel Messi has once again astonished fans by extending his impressive multi-goal streak to five matches, leading Inter Miami to triumph over Nashville SC with a score of 2-1 on Saturday night.

Miami improved to a record of 11 wins, 3 losses, and 5 draws. This victory places them fifth in the Supporter’s Shield standings, as they aim to clinch the title for the second consecutive year.

Entering the match, Messi was already a remarkable MLS player with four successive multi-goal games after he netted twice against the New England Revolution earlier in the week.

The 38-year-old star initiated the scoring on a free kick at the 17-minute mark. After Nashville equalized early in the second half, Messi swiftly regained the lead for his team with a masterful steal and score in the 62nd minute.

Now boasting 16 goals in 16 MLS matches this season, Messi is tied with Nashville’s Sam Surridge, who has achieved the same tally in 21 matches.

Nashville, who had won five matches in a row before this game, momentarily held a spot at third in the Supporter’s Shield Standings. Their recent unbeaten streak, which extended back to mid-April, marked the longest active run of its kind in MLS history and represented the team’s best form in their six-year history.

Messi’s first goal was incredible, as he curved a low free kick around Nashville’s defensive wall, showcasing the skill of the nine-time Ballon d’Or winner, now reaching an impressive 55 goals in 66 appearances for Inter Miami.

Hany Mukhtar equalized for Nashville shortly after halftime, thanks to a header from an Andy Najar cross that found its way past goalkeeper Oscar Ustari. However, Messi regained the advantage after capitalizing on a blunder from Nashville’s Joe Willis who inadvertently passed to him for the goal.
