On Saturday, during his bobblehead day, Byron Buxton of the Minnesota Twins achieved a historic feat by hitting for the cycle against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Buxton began the game with an infield single in the first inning, followed by a triple in the second and a double in the third. He capped off his performance with a home run in the seventh inning. This marks the Twins’ first cycle since 2019.

Additionally, his cycle was the second of the Major League Baseball season, with Carson Kelly of the Chicago Cubs hitting the first one earlier in March. This accomplishment makes Buxton the 12th player in Twins’ history to achieve a cycle. As the game proceeded, the Twins were well ahead, aiming for a third wild card spot in the league.
