Kyrie Irving, currently with the Dallas Mavericks, shared fond memories of his two-year run with the Boston Celtics. Despite a “rocky tenure,” he noted he bears no hard feelings towards the franchise.
During a recent live stream with Jaylen Brown, he reflected on his excitement about wearing the Celtics’ jersey. He stated, “It was so exciting, my dad had gone to school right up the street. My mom graduated from Boston University as well, so it felt right.”
Irving’s time with the Celtics, especially in the 2017-18 season, was significant as it allowed him to team up with talented players including Jayson Tatum, Marcus Smart, Al Horford, and Gordon Hayward. He explained that the experience challenged him and was exactly what he needed to grow as a player.
