Randy Couture Released After Serious Car Accident While Training for NHRA Debut

UFC veteran Randy Couture is back home following a serious car crash while preparing for his NHRA debut, enduring significant injuries.

UFC veteran Randy Couture has returned home after sustaining injuries from a serious car accident. His representatives confirmed that Couture was discharged from a burn center in Las Vegas this week after crashing his car at a race track in Kansas City.

Couture, aged 62, was released from the hospital and is now receiving outpatient treatment. He suffered first- and second-degree burns along with broken ribs during a test run on July 9. Couture was in training for his upcoming debut in the National Hot Rod Association.

“I’ve been a fan of racing for 12, 13 years,” Couture stated in a recent Instagram post. “From up in the stands, it looks really easy. Oh, they just go fast … it’s so much more involved.”

The UFC Hall of Famer holds the record as the first fighter to win titles in two separate divisions and remains a well-respected figure in mixed martial arts, even serving as a commentator for the Professional Fighters League.
