Yang Hansen was drafted at No. 16 in the 2025 NBA Draft, which came as a surprise to him. During an ESPN interview, he recounted that he was finishing up his fried chicken when his name was announced by commissioner Adam Silver. “For sure it was a big shock for me,” he expressed, stating that he didn’t even have his suit on when called to the stage.
After being drafted by the Memphis Grizzlies, he was subsequently traded to the Portland Trail Blazers in exchange for Cedric Coward.
In summer league games, Hansen has shown promise, averaging 11.7 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 2.0 blocks per game, with a solid goal to become a versatile player contributing to his team’s success.
