Caitlin Clark Out of WNBA All-Star Weekend Events Due to Injury

Caitlin Clark, a rising star in the WNBA, has announced she will not participate in the All-Star Game or 3-Point Contest due to injury but will attend the events.

The WNBA All-Star weekend was highly anticipated this year as the league’s top players were set to gather in Indianapolis, but Caitlin Clark, known for her electrifying play, will miss the festivities due to an injury.

On Thursday, Clark shared via a message that she won’t be able to participate in the All-Star Game or the 3-Point Contest as planned. Still, she expressed her excitement to be present at Gainbridge Fieldhouse during the event.

“I’m thrilled for Indy to host the WNBA All-Star this weekend. I want to thank the Indianapolis Host Committee and everyone who has worked tirelessly over the past year to make this event happen. I’m sure this will be the best All-Star yet.

I am incredibly sad and disappointed to say I can’t participate in the 3-Point Contest or the All-Star Game. I will be at Gainbridge Fieldhouse for all the action and look forward to helping Sandy coach our team to victory.

I can’t wait to see you all there!”

Voted as an All-Star captain, Clark now shifts her focus to supporting her team from the sideline.

Throughout the season, Clark has faced several challenges with injuries, having missed games due to a quad strain and groin issues. This season, she has played in only 13 games, averaging 16.5 points, 8.8 assists, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.6 steals per game, shooting at 36.7% from the field and 27.9% from three-point range.
