Sean Strickland Faces Suspension from Nevada Athletic Commission After Incident with Regional Fighter

Former UFC champion Sean Strickland is suspended following a violent encounter during a regional fight.

Sean Strickland is in trouble with the Nevada State Athletic Commission. He has received a temporary suspension following a physical altercation with a regional fighter in June.

Strickland’s suspension is likely to be extended during the upcoming commission meeting on Wednesday. The full extent of his punishment is yet to be determined, with possible outcomes being a longer suspension or a fine.

The incident in question occurred on June 29 when Strickland and teammate Chris Curtis were cornering Miles Hunsinger at a Tuff-N-Uff event in Las Vegas. Undefeated fighter Luis Hernandez provoked Hunsinger’s corner following his victory over Hunsinger.

Strickland and Curtis rushed to confront Hernandez, leading Strickland to throw punches at him, with at least one strike making contact. Security swiftly intervened to restore order.

Hernandez indicated that he does not wish for any penalties against Strickland, expressing that he likes both Strickland and Curtis and hopes the commission takes no negative action against them.
