Devon Manuel, Florida Offensive Lineman, Arrested for DUI and Gun Charges

Florida offensive lineman Devon Manuel faced arrest on DUI suspicion and felony gun possession after being pulled over in Gainesville.

Devon Manuel, an offensive lineman for the Florida Gators, was arrested overnight in Gainesville on charges of driving under the influence and possession of a firearm. As per documents obtained from Swamp247, the 22-year-old was cited for driving over the speed limit and failed a field sobriety test.

Manuel was reportedly stopped by officers shortly after midnight for traveling at 60 mph in a 45 mph zone. Police noted a strong odor of marijuana and Manuel admitted to having used a THC vape. He also stated he did not have a medical marijuana card. A firearm, a Glock 20 pistol loaded with 14 rounds, was found in his vehicle.

Despite performing poorly on a field test, which he attributed to a past knee injury affecting his balance, a breathalyzer indicated a blood alcohol level of 0.000. A urine sample was collected for further testing.

Manuel has yet to face formal charges related to this incident. The athletics department at Florida has acknowledged the situation, stating they are in the process of gathering facts. Manuel participated in three games last season and transferred from Arkansas, where he previously started four games over three seasons.
