Former soccer player Paul Gascoigne has returned home after being hospitalized due to a collapse earlier this week. Reports indicate he was found “semi-conscious in his bedroom” and subsequently admitted to an intensive care unit before being moved to an acute medical unit with a stable condition.
His personal assistant, Steve Foster, discovered him and reassured that being in the hospital was beneficial for Gascoigne at the time.
Later, his management team confirmed that he is now out of the hospital and recovering well at home.
The 58-year-old, affectionately known as ‘Gazza’, is celebrated as one of England’s premier players, representing clubs such as Newcastle and Tottenham, and has a remarkable international record with 57 caps for the national team.

Despite his remarkable talent on the field, Gascoigne has faced struggles with alcohol addiction throughout his life, sharing his journey in a documentary detailing his battles and multiple rehab attempts.
Gascoigne has expressed, “I’m a sad drunk. People know Paul Gascoigne, but nobody knows Gazza. Not even I sometimes know who I really am.”
He has stated, “The real problem isn’t the drinking, but what comes after”, reflecting on the challenges that arise following his drinking episodes.
