Carson Beck's Full Recovery: Miami QB Raring to Go Post-Elbow Surgery
Carson Beck expresses confidence and readiness to play for Miami after recovering from elbow surgery, aiming for a strong debut season.
Carson Beck, the Miami quarterback, recently declared that he feels fully recovered ahead of his debut season post-elbow surgery, approximately seven months after he underwent a procedure to fix a torn UCL in his throwing elbow. His swift recovery allows him the opportunity to adapt to a new system following his transfer from Georgia, where he has already engaged significantly with his new teammates after being cleared medically earlier this spring.
Although Beck didn’t take part in spring camp, he began throwing soon after and has been active in player-led workouts. His full practices will start next month as Miami prepares for preseason camp. Beck stated, “I’m doing good. I’ve been 100% for a while now, just throughout the summer workouts getting with the guys, really trying to build this chemistry with the receivers, watching film, out on the field getting extra throws, routes, all that type of stuff. I’m feeling really good.”
His elbow injury occurred during the final play of the first half in Georgia’s victory over Texas in the SEC Championship Game, leading to his substitution by backup Gunner Stockton. This marked his last appearance in a Bulldogs uniform. Miami’s head coach Mario Cristobal noted that Beck’s experience in high-stakes games and his competitive nature will be beneficial as he embarks on this season, stating, “He has as good of experience as a quarterback as you can have… He is ultra competitive, and his football IQ is off the charts.”
The change to Shannon Dawson’s offensive system could be precisely what Beck needs to regain the success he had in his initial starting phase, potentially leading to a standout season.
