Isaiah Bond's Defamation Lawsuit Dismissed
A federal court has decided to dismiss Isaiah Bond's defamation lawsuit against his accuser, concluding the case after Bond faced allegations around the 2025 NFL Draft.
The U.S. District Court in Northern Texas dismissed with prejudice the defamation lawsuit Isaiah Bond filed against a woman who allegedly made false claims against the former Texas and Alabama wide receiver, as reported by ESPN. This dismissal brings the lawsuit to an end and bars Bond from bringing another defamation claim against the woman who accused him of sexual assault.
Bond turned himself into the Frisco, Texas police on April 10 under an outstanding warrant related to sexual assault. He posted a $25,000 bond for his release. Just days later, he proceeded to file the now-dismissed lawsuit in federal court against the unnamed woman, asserting his encounter with her was consensual.
The accuser contended that she and Bond met on February 4, and their initial encounter later escalated into non-consensual actions. Following that, Bond purportedly requested her to sign a non-disclosure agreement and subsequently offered money in a text message as a form of apology.
“Unlike the false narrative that has been amplified, the truth, once revealed in its entirety, will show that he was targeted by a woman eight years his senior, relentlessly pursued, enticed by explicit photos & videos and ultimately set up for financial gain,” stated Butler.
Despite being projected as an early to mid-round draft pick, Bond went undrafted and is currently a free agent. In his college career, he accumulated 99 receptions, 1,428 yards, and 10 touchdowns over three seasons, marking his time with both the Crimson Tide and Longhorns.
