'Not my issue anymore': Baker Mayfield Avoids Discussing the Browns

Baker Mayfield, who previously played for the Cleveland Browns, shows no interest in discussing his former team during a podcast appearance.

Baker Mayfield, the former Cleveland Browns quarterback, has shown little interest in discussing his past with the team. During a recent episode of “The New Heights” podcast, hosted by Jason Kelce and Travis Kelce, questions arose about the Browns’ ongoing quarterback struggles, which led to Mayfield stating:

“Listen, I plead the fifth. Not my problem anymore.”

In his time with the Browns, Mayfield compiled a 29-30 record and became known for leading them to their first playoff win in 26 years. He was the first overall pick in the 2018 draft but was traded to the Carolina Panthers in 2022 after experiencing multiple injuries. Despite his tumultuous exit from Cleveland, Mayfield has thrived with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who are already considering extending his contract, according to General Manager Jason Licht.
