Cameron Brink Set for Season Return on Tuesday vs. Aces After Year-Long Recovery from ACL Injury
Los Angeles Sparks' Cameron Brink is poised to make her comeback after a 13-month rehabilitation from a torn ACL, marking her first appearance since June 2024.
Cameron Brink of the Los Angeles Sparks is set to return to action on Tuesday after a 13-month absence due to a torn ACL. The second overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft has been sidelined for over a year, marking her first game back since June 19, 2024, when she was injured against the Connecticut Sun.
“It means the world,” Brink expressed. “I’m just very excited, very humbled by this experience. It’s no easy thing to come back from, so just really excited.”
Brink’s ACL and meniscus injury caused her to miss significant time. After receiving medical clearance, she intends to compete against the Las Vegas Aces on Tuesday.
Her coach Lynne Roberts emphasized, “Not to put too much pressure on Cam’s impact right now. I want her to come out and… just be in the moment and not worry too much about missing a layup.”
Brink established herself as a formidable defensive player during her rookie season, averaging 2.3 blocks in 22 minutes per game across 15 games before her injury. During her return, the Sparks (11-14) are looking to regain momentum in an effort to climb out of the current standings.
