Titans Release Treylon Burks After Collarbone Injury

The Tennessee Titans have waived wide receiver Treylon Burks following an injury sustained during training camp. This decision comes as Burks has struggled with injuries since being drafted.

The Tennessee Titans have decided to release former first-round wide receiver Treylon Burks due to an injury designation after he fractured his collarbone during their training camp practice on July 26. The team also confirmed that they signed free agent wide receiver Ramel Keyton as part of this adjustment.

Burks’ fracture will likely cause him to miss the start of the season and possibly additional time. This injury marks the second serious issue he has faced outside of game situations within the last two years; he previously tore his ACL in October 2023, affecting most of the last season.

Over his career, Burks has struggled to stay on the field, recently playing only 15 games in two seasons, including just 10 starts since the 2022 draft. His lonely highlight during his first year was achieving 33 catches for 444 receiving yards and one touchdown. In contrast, he has accumulated only 255 yards without a touchdown in the last two years.

In a significant move, Tennessee traded wide receiver A.J. Brown to the Philadelphia Eagles to acquire the 18th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, which was used to select Burks. Since that trade, Brown has consistently excelled, recording three successive seasons with over 1,000 receiving yards and winning Super Bowl 59 with the Eagles.
