Warriors to Fully Embrace Jimmy Butler's Bold Tenacity
The Golden State Warriors and Jimmy Butler are gearing up for a new chapter following Butler's trade from Miami, emphasizing his winning mentality and fiery nature.
Draymond Green joyfully ran onto the court for the Golden State Warriors’ game against the Los Angeles Lakers when he noticed a reporter interviewing Jimmy Butler. Embracing Butler with excitement, Green exclaimed, “People like that, man, that’s who you want to go to war with.” Butler responded enthusiastically, stating, “F—king dogs that don’t give a damn and do anything it takes to win.”
Butler, invigorated by his recent trade from the Miami Heat, looks forward to playing his first game with the Warriors against the Chicago Bulls. This trade comes on the heels of Butler’s tumultuous period with the Heat, marked by multiple suspensions.
Green expressed his eagerness for Butler’s contributions, having supported the team’s pursuit of him. He remarked, “Everybody is afraid of guys who have some s–t to them. But guys who don’t have s–t to them don’t win.”
The warriors secured Butler following an unsuccessful attempt to reacquire Kevin Durant, who opted against a reunion. Butler has signed a two-year, $111 million contract extension and is anticipated to restore the Warriors to their championship caliber.
Currently sitting at 11th place in the Western Conference with a 25-26 record, the Warriors aim to combine Butler with Steph Curry and Draymond Green to enhance their playoff competitiveness.
Butler’s mercurial nature has been addressed by the Warriors, with Green commenting, “You pick your poison, right? Oh, Jimmy can be a little tough? Because he wants to win? I’ll pick dealing with that tough rather than dealing with a guy that just wants to exist.”
Butler aims to revive his career with the Warriors, hoping to regain his joy and contribute significantly to the team’s success.
