An injury storm hit the Dallas Cowboys during training camp. After suffering injuries to two offensive linemen, cornerback Caelen Carson is sidelined for 4-6 weeks due to a hyperextended knee from practice. Carson missed Monday’s practice and is one of four key defensive backs affected by knee issues, along with Trevon Diggs, Josh Butler, and Shavon Revel Jr.
Carson, a fifth-round pick last year, started five games in his rookie season, recording 27 tackles and four pass breakups. His recovery timeline is crucial as the Cowboys prepare for their season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Increasing Injury Woes for the Cowboys
The injury list also includes Tyler Guyton, who suffered a knee injury during Monday’s practice. Initially fearing a torn ACL, an MRI showed a less severe bone fracture, placing him out for 4-6 weeks but allowing for recovery without surgery. This chain of injuries is concerning as Robert Jones had previously broken a bone in his neck and is expected to miss two to three months.
