Las Vegas will host the draw for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. According to an ESPN report, the event is scheduled for December 5, marking a significant step in defining the group stage for 48 participating nations next summer in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
Pedro Cedillo, an executive from Pachuca, stated, “I understand it will be in Las Vegas, and that’s where we need to be present to provide information about the city of Pachuca, the state of Hidalgo and the two venues we have. On December 5, if I’m not mistaken, is precisely the day the draw takes place, or at the beginning of December.”
FIFA has yet to confirm date or location for the draw. Previously, Las Vegas hosted the draws when the United States was the venue for the World Cup in 1994. However, the Convention Center in Las Vegas is booked on December 5. Despite reports of The Sphere being a potential venue, it seems unlikely due to a scheduling conflict with a performance by Zac Brown Band that same evening.
The 11 cities hosting matches in the U.S. are divided into three regions: New York/New Jersey, Philadelphia, Boston, Miami, and Atlanta (East); Kansas City, Dallas, and Houston (Central); and Los Angeles, Seattle, and the San Francisco Bay Area (West). In Mexico, Guadalajara, Monterrey, and Mexico City will be the venues, while Toronto and Vancouver are set to host matches in Canada. The final match is scheduled for July 19, 2026, at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
