Texas A&M’s junior safety Dalton Brooks was arrested on Friday linked to a vehicular incident on June 26 which caused more than $200 in damages. According to Brazos County jail records accessed by the Austin American-Statesman, Brooks, aged 20, was taken into custody and later released the same day after posting a $2,000 bond.
“We are aware of the recent incident involving Dalton Brooks and are in the process of gathering all the facts. The matter will be handled internally,” said a Texas A&M spokesperson.
Brooks is anticipated to play a significant role in the Aggies’ secondary for the upcoming season following a strong performance last year where he participated in all 13 games and made eight starts. He concluded the season second in tackles with 59.
In a related note, this incident adds to a troubling summer for Texas A&M football as another player, Le’Veon Moss, was arrested on July 13 for a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct.
Texas A&M starts the 2025 season against UTSA on August 30.
