Lionel Messi's Early Exit: Concerns Grow Over Injury During Leagues Cup Match

Lionel Messi sustained a potential hamstring injury just 11 minutes into Inter Miami's Leagues Cup clash against Necaxa.

Lionel Messi faced a setback during the recent Leagues Cup match when he had to leave the pitch within the first 11 minutes due to what appeared to be a hamstring injury. Messi was substituted for Federico Redondo. With an impressive record of 18 goals and 7 assists, he is a critical asset for Inter Miami, currently leading the league in MVP standings. The game ended in a tie, 2-2, with Jorda Alba scoring the equalizer before Miami triumphed in the penalty shootout.

After the match, Tealsco Segovia reported that Messi mentioned he felt fine, although they are awaiting medical assessments for clarity on the injury. Manager Javier Mascherano noted that Messi “felt something” during the match, but full evaluation would be necessary on Sunday.

Miami’s upcoming match against Pumas on August 6 holds heavy stakes, especially if their star player cannot participate.
