Aftershocks Defeats Eberlein Drive to Win TBT 2025 Title

The Basketball Tournament has officially named Aftershocks, a Wichita State alumni team, as the new champion after they secured a $1 million prize by defeating Eberlein Drive by 15 points. Here’s how the finals unfolded on Sunday night!

Aftershocks 82, Eberlein Drive 67

Aftershocks initiated and concluded the scoring during the championship game, establishing a 12-point lead in the first quarter. Eberlein Drive quickly equalized with a 12-0 run, tying the score at 18 late in the first quarter. By the end of the first quarter, it was a close matchup at 21-20.

As the second quarter unfolded, Eberlein Drive managed to take its first lead, but Aftershocks responded with a 12-0 streak, reclaiming control of the game.

The first half concluded with Aftershocks leading by nine points, 46-37.

Eberlein Drive attempted to stay competitive in the second half, narrowing the deficit to 55-50, but they were never truly able to challenge Aftershocks. The fourth quarter featured a total of 13 points from both teams combined before the game reached the Elam Ending, where a target score determines the winner. The first team to reach 82 points secured the championship.

Marcus Keene clinched the victory for Aftershocks by making a free throw, marking his seventh game-winner during the Elam Ending, a record in TBT history, surpassing Jamil Wilson’s six.

Keene was named the MVP of TBT 2025, finishing the game with 22 points. He hinted at the possibility of returning for the next tournament.

On the other side, Junathaen Watson led Eberlein Drive with 14 points.
