Detroit Lions safety Morice Norris is currently in concussion protocol stemming from an injury he sustained during a preseason matchup against the Atlanta Falcons on Friday. Following the incident, Norris was transported by ambulance and spent the night in a hospital but was able to rejoin his team at their facility by Sunday.
“He’s doing well,” stated Lions coach Dan Campbell on Monday. “It’s good to have him back. He’s good. Obviously he’s in concussion protocol. We’re going to take it nice and easy here, make sure he’s good over the next 10, 14 days and reassess. So that’s good news.”

During the game, Norris remained down after an impactful tackle on Falcons running back Nathan Carter, leading to a head injury.
Norris shared a positive update on social media after his release from the hospital, saying, “I’m all good man, don’t stress it. Appreciate all the check ins and love.”
At just 24 years old, Norris had signed with the Lions last offseason after going undrafted. He spent the bulk of his rookie season on the practice squad but was elevated to the active roster in late December.
