The Little League Baseball World Series is scheduled to kick off on Wednesday, August 13 and will continue until August 24 in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania. This annual event, occurring since 1947, is a highlight in youth sports.
In 2024, the champion Lake Mary was eliminated in the regional finals held in Irmo, South Carolina. Consequently, a new champion will be crowned among the 20 participating teams in 2025.
The tournament features 10 teams from the United States and 10 teams from other countries. The U.S. Championship and International Championship will air on ABC on August 21, starting with the international game at 12:30 p.m. ET, followed by the U.S. game at 3:30 p.m. ET.
On August 24, the consolation game will be broadcast at 10 a.m. ET on ESPN2, leading into the championship game at 3 p.m. ET on ABC.
The series follows a double-elimination format, allowing teams to stay in competition after a single loss until they incur a second loss.
The games consist of six innings, and in the case of a tie, a seventh inning is played. If still tied, each team will start the half-inning with a runner on second base. All players must be between the ages of 10 and 12.
