Skyy Moore’s Move: Chiefs Trade Former Second-Round Pick to 49ers for Receiver Boost

The Kansas City Chiefs have traded Skyy Moore to the San Francisco 49ers, according to NFL Media, who are currently in desperate need of wide receiver support. As part of this agreement, the teams will swap sixth and seventh-round picks in the 2027 NFL Draft.

This trade represents a positive change for both Moore and the 49ers. Moore now has an opportunity for a fresh start on another playoff-contending team, while the 49ers fill a crucial gap in their receiving corps.

Currently, San Francisco faces challenges as they prepare for the upcoming season without key wideouts Brandon Aiyuk and Demarcus Robinson. Kansas City drafted Moore in 2022 hoping he would inject some explosiveness into their offense following the loss of All-Pro wideout Tyreek Hill. While the Chiefs achieved considerable success, winning two Super Bowls, Moore’s performance fell short of expectations, with only 43 receptions for 494 yards and one touchdown over his first two seasons. Nevertheless, he did manage to catch a touchdown pass during Kansas City’s Super Bowl victory over the Eagles at the conclusion of the 2022 season. The previous year, Moore’s participation was limited to six games due to a core muscle injury and he did not record any receptions.

Similarly, in San Francisco, Moore will be expected to serve as a complementary piece among a talented roster of players, which includes:
