In a thrilling conclusion, Chase Briscoe held off Tyler Reddick to clinch his second consecutive Southern 500 title.
In a dominant performance, Chase Briscoe secured his victory at the Cook Out Southern 500, edging out Tyler Reddick in a nail-biting finish. Briscoe commanded the race by leading 309 out of 367 laps, marking his fourth win in his Cup career and making history by becoming the first driver to win back-to-back Southern 500 races for two different teams.
“There at the end, that was way harder than it needed to be,” Briscoe remarked post-race, reflecting on the pressure from Reddick. “It’s so cool to win two Southern 500s in a row. This is my favorite race of the year … Great way to start our playoffs, and man that was a lot of fun.”
