Giants and Rockies Clash in Benches-Clearing Brawl Following Devers' Admiration of Home Run

A heated confrontation erupted between the Giants and Rockies after Rafael Devers celebrated a home run, leading to several ejections.

During a game between the Giants and Rockies at Colorado’s Coors Field, a confrontation broke out after Rafael Devers hit a two-run homer. His prolonged admiration of the hit sparked an outburst from Kyle Freeland, the Rockies’ starting pitcher, leading to a heated exchange and ultimately, the benches cleared.

In the aftermath, Devers finished his home run trot after the altercation subsided and players returned to their respective benches. Notably, that wasn’t the first time a brawl intersected with a home run trot; a similar event occurred with Carlos Gomez a decade ago. In a surprising twist, Devers had an impressive run leading up to this game, boasting 12 hits in his last 23 at-bats, including four homers and 10 RBI over his previous six games.
