NL Rookie of the Year Race: A Competitive Match with No Clear Leader

As the 2025 MLB season progresses, multiple contenders vie for the NL Rookie of the Year, making the race more exciting but uncertain.

We’re now past Labor Day in the 2025 MLB season and several of the high-profile awards look to be wrapped up right now, barring something unforeseen in the final few weeks. The American League Rookie of the Year, for example, will be won by Athletics slugger Nick Kurtz.

Over on the National League side, however, there’s a battle at the top right now between at least three players.

Current Odds for NL Rookie of the Year

Top Contender: Drake Baldwin, C, Braves, -110

Baldwin has played in 101 games, earning 2.6 WAR while hitting .283/.356/.462 with 12 doubles, 15 homers, and 62 RBIs.

Rising Star: Cade Horton, SP, Cubs, +130

Horton sits at a 2.92 ERA and is trending upward, having struck out 81 batters in just under 100 innings.

Strong Player: Isaac Collins, OF, Brewers, +450

Collins has produced 2.7 WAR with a batting average of .276 and strong clutch statistics, making him a valuable contributor to the Brewers’ success.
