Rodriguez and Lore to Lead Timberwolves Following Arbitration Victory

Alex Rodriguez and Marc Lore will officially take over as majority owners of the Minnesota Timberwolves after winning an arbitration case.

Alex Rodriguez and Marc Lore will become the next majority owners of the Minnesota Timberwolves after winning an arbitration case that determined the continuation of the ownership transfer.

The three-member arbitration panel concluded that Glen Taylor, the current controlling owner of the Timberwolves, lacked the authority to cancel the final part of the transaction.

Lore and Rodriguez, the former Major League Baseball star, stated that their timeline for league approval and acquisition completion remains valid despite setbacks imposed by Taylor’s previous decision.

“We are extremely pleased with today’s decision,” Lore and Rodriguez remarked, expressing anticipation for finalizing the acquisition and focusing on championships for Timberwolves fans.

The sale now awaits approval from the league’s board of governors, requiring affirmative votes from a minimum of 23 out of 30 team owners. Taylor previously attempted to withdraw from the deal, but the arbitration has reinstated the transaction’s original terms.

Rodriguez’s affiliation with FOX Sports has been noted throughout this negotiation process.
