UFC CEO Dana White is historically hesitant about organizing stadium events, but Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford might change that narrative. This bout is set to take place at Allegiant Stadium, marking the first combat event at this venue in its five-year history, although UFC primarily operates in Las Vegas.
White suggests that a successful fight could pave the way for future UFC stadium events in the U.S. The organization previously hosted three stadium events: two in Australia and one in Canada. White believes that stadium events complicate the atmosphere, fan experience, and production for mixed martial arts, but he is optimistic that this match could shift his perspective.
“I’ve done stadium shows with UFC out of the country before. I don’t love them,” White shared. “This is what I’m hoping. I’m hoping I’ll love tomorrow.”
This event marks Zuffa Boxing’s initial entry into the boxing arena, a promotion founded by White and connected to TKO Group Holdings, which also owns WWE. White envisions a robust television or streaming deal for Zuffa Boxing, expecting to finalize arrangements for at least a dozen fight cards in the coming year.
“I will get a TV deal done,” he asserted. “We’ll announce in ‘26 that we’ll be putting these on. And in ‘26, boxing will be on television like in the glory days. Currently, boxing is shown rarely, while UFC events are frequent every Saturday.”
