One frequent variable is the emergence of a spot starter when a team is slated for six consecutive games. This doesn’t happen every time, but it’s common enough that this year, we’re specifying which two-start pitchers have games on Tuesday and Sunday in the upcoming scoring period, as they are most likely to be impacted.
