Lions' Running Backs Montgomery and Gibbs Join Cowboys Duo in NFL History

Detroit's running back tandem David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs reach a significant milestone in NFL history, tying the record held by Cowboys legends.

Detroit Lions’ running backs David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs are establishing themselves as a remarkable duo in the league. Recently, they notched another historical achievement by tying an NFL record for the 14th time scoring touchdowns in the same game.

This remarkable feat sees them join the legendary Cowboys pair of Emmitt Smith and Daryl Johnston, who held this record for over 20 years.

In a game against the Cincinnati Bengals, Gibbs kicked off the third quarter with a 20-yard touchdown reception from Jared Goff, followed by Montgomery scoring an eight-yard touchdown run later on, sealing their victory.

This achievement not only highlights their outstanding performance but also puts them in the same conversation as two of the most dynamic backfields in NFL history. With their eyes set on more milestones, the duo aims to lead the Lions to a Super Bowl victory in the 2025 season.
