LeBron James Assists Lakers with Game Analysis While Healing from Sciatica
LeBron James plays a crucial role in helping the Lakers analyze their performance despite being sidelined.
Despite being unable to participate in the Los Angeles Lakers’ season opener, LeBron James is actively contributing to the team’s learning process following their defeat to Golden State.
Coach JJ Redick noted that James was “really helpful” during a film session conducted on Wednesday where they reviewed the game where the Lakers lost 119-109. Although James will be out for a few weeks due to sciatica, his involvement in the team’s off-court preparations is vital for ensuring they start the season strongly.
Redick emphasized the healthy dialogue during the film session, stating, “I told them [that] him asking questions, him giving his input, us having a back-and-forth is so healthy.” He expressed a desire for continued interaction during such sessions.
From his perch on the bench, dressed in a suit, James observed the game and the team’s struggles closely, as they fell behind by 17 points at one stage.
The Lakers have not yet scheduled a return date for James but are optimistic that he might be back in November. They face challenges ahead, particularly after committing 20 turnovers in their opener against the Warriors.
In a notable performance, Luka Dončić delivered 43 points, along with 12 rebounds and nine assists. After the game, Dončić received treatment for a minor groin strain, but Redick reassured, saying it likely isn’t serious.
