In the Week 8 game against the Philadelphia Eagles, Cam Skattebo of the New York Giants suffered a dislocated ankle. His injury occurred late in the first half when he was tackled, leading to his being carted off the field with an air cast on his left leg.
This injury is a significant setback for Skattebo, who had been a bright spot in the Giants’ season. Previously, he had accumulated 398 rushing yards and five touchdowns along with 189 receiving yards and a touchdown. His performance had made him a leading candidate for the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award, but now his chances of winning this honor appear to be dashed.
The Arizona State product has been instrumental for the Giants along with fellow rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart. Following Skattebo’s injury, Tyrone Tracy Jr. is anticipated to take over in the backfield.
With a stellar beginning to his career, Skattebo’s achievements included three touchdowns against the Eagles earlier in the month, further solidifying his reputation as one of the top rookies this season.
