Patrick Surtain II Out for Broncos-Cowboys Matchup Due to Shoulder Injury

The Broncos' star cornerback, Patrick Surtain II, sustained a shoulder injury and has been ruled out for the second half against the Cowboys.

Star cornerback Patrick Surtain II of the Broncos faced a shoulder injury towards the end of the first half during the Week 8 game against the Cowboys. He did not come back from the locker room with the team at halftime and was ruled out after initially being listed as questionable.

“They are telling me it is a shoulder injury. He is questionable to return,” reports @tracywolfson about Surtain, who remains in the Broncos locker room.

Surtain, who was named Defensive Player of the Year, also had a shin injury earlier in the match but managed to play. His presence was pivotal in preventing the usually potent Dallas offense from scoring, as Denver led 27-10 at halftime.

Despite not having the number of interceptions compared to last season, Surtain has maintained high performance levels, allowing no touchdowns this season as the main defender and boasting an impressive 48.5% completion rate against him.

With Surtain sidelined, both Riley Moss and rookie Jahdae Barron will be under increased scrutiny; Barron recorded an interception on the Cowboys’ final offensive play of the first half.
