Juventus Parts Ways with Igor Tudor Following Poor Season Start

In a surprising move, Juventus has dismissed Igor Tudor after a sluggish start to the current season, prompting speculation about his successor.

Juventus has decided to part ways with their Croatian manager Igor Tudor following a disappointing commencement to the 2025-26 season, especially after losing 1-0 to Lazio on Sunday. Tudor, who succeeded Thiago Motta in March 2025, experienced a recent downturn in team performance, with the last win reported back on September 13 against Inter.

Over the previous 18 months, Tudor’s departure marks the third managerial change for the Bianconeri, following the dismissals of Massimiliano Allegri and Thiago Motta. Moving ahead, Massimo Brambilla, the current manager for Juventus Next Gen, will assume command for the team’s upcoming match against Udinese on Wednesday.

A statement from the club indicated, “Juventus FC announces that it has today relieved Igor Tudor of his duties as head coach of the Men’s First Team, along with his staff consisting of Ivan Javorcic, Tomislav Rogic, and Riccardo Ragnacci. The Club expresses gratitude to Tudor and his staff for their efforts and wishes them well in their future endeavors.”

The search for a long-term manager is underway, with Luciano Spalletti, Raffaele Palladino, and Roberto Mancini mentioned as potential candidates. Spalletti, particularly noted for his previous stint with Napoli, tops the list, aided by his vast experience and prior success.

However, the financial predicament of Juventus, which currently entails paying the salaries of previous coaching staff, remains a crucial consideration in the hiring of a new manager.

Who will replace Tudor?

While Brambilla steps in for the immediate future, Juventus seeks a permanent solution to lead the club forward after a shaky start.
