Dana White Confirms FBI's Investigation into Betting Irregularities in Dulgarian's Recent Fight
UFC President Dana White has revealed that the FBI is examining suspicious betting patterns linked to Isaac Dulgarian's fight against Yadier del Valle, which raised concerns ahead of the match.
Fighter Isaac Dulgarian stirred up controversy last Saturday during UFC events, as suspicious betting patterns were linked to his fight against Yadier del Valle. Although Dulgarian entered as a significant favorite, his odds drastically fell just before the fight. UFC president Dana White announced that the FBI is investigating the unusual betting behavior surrounding the bout.
Before the fight, Dulgarian was favored at around -250 to win against del Valle. However, as the match approached, his odds fell to nearly -170 to -130, a drastic change indicative of heavy betting activity.
IC360, a betting integrity service, alerted UFC of unusual betting patterns on del Valle to win in the first round, according to ESPN. Dulgarian attempted a takedown right at the fight start but was submitted in the first round.
Following the fight, some sportsbooks provided refunds for bets placed on Dulgarian. As Caesars Sportsbook Support stated: “Mobile customers with losing bets on the Dulgarian UFC fight will receive a cash credit…”
After releasing Dulgarian, UFC affirmed that it is cooperating with IC360’s ongoing investigation of the betting allegations linked to the fight, emphasizing the integrity of their sport. The investigation ties back to a prior case involving fight fixing allegations related to Darrick Minner in 2022.
White, in further clarifying the ongoing investigation, dismissed rumors of a broad FBI investigation into numerous UFC fights. He stated, “There are people out there talking now, ‘Oh there’s hundreds of fights,’ that’s total bullshit.”
While discussing the ongoing scrutiny of fight fixing in MMA, White mentioned that UFC is committed to ensuring the preservation of integrity in the sport.
