Vanderbilt Secures Five-Star Recruit Jared Curtis from Georgia

Jared Curtis, a highly-touted quarterback, has switched his commitment to Vanderbilt, marking a significant boost for the Commodores.

Vanderbilt has achieved a monumental recruiting success by bringing aboard five-star quarterback Jared Curtis, who previously committed to Georgia. According to Tom Loy of 247Sports, Curtis is ranked as the No. 3 player in the Top247 rankings, making him the most prestigious recruit in Vanderbilt’s history.

The Nashville native, who played for Nashville Christian, was highly sought after by numerous programs and had originally signed with Georgia in May. However, Vanderbilt’s impressive performance this season has made a significant impression on him.

Curtis is set to take over from star quarterback Diego Pavia, who is a leading contender for the Heisman Trophy. The Commodores finished the last season with an impressive 10 wins, earning a spot within the College Football Playoff conversation.

As a junior, Curtis achieved remarkable statistics, throwing for 2,830 yards, 40 touchdowns, and three interceptions, along with 18 rushing touchdowns. He has drawn comparisons to Jay Cutler, a former Vanderbilt standout, highlighting his potential impact as a true freshman in the upcoming season.

“A talented quarterback prospect with the skills, size, and creativity necessary to excel at a high level in collegiate football,” stated Andrew Ivins, Director of Scouting at 247Sports.
